Course Content

Understanding the Green Economy
The purpose of the module is to enable participants to develop a clear understanding of the green economy and to be able to explain the concept in clear terms. Participants will be exposed to global and national contexts of the green economy and analyse the opportunities and challenges of the green economy and how it implicates labour specifically and generally. The module also enables participants to analyse the opportunities and challenges of the green economy for the business sector.

Building Capacity for Just Transition
The purpose of the module is to enable participants to examine and appreciate labour rights and social protection mechanisms in the Green Economy Transitions (GET)and to discuss skills development and training for green jobs. Participants will further explore how to engage stakeholders in the quest for Just transition from traditional job sectors to the green economy sector.

Developing Action Plans and Implementation Strategies
The purpose of the module is to enable participants to develop strategies for Just Transition. They will acquire skills in action planning, communication and advocacy strategies. Participants will also acquire skills and knowledge on Just Transition initiatives and would be capacitated on how to implement Initiatives. The module also enables participants to monitor and evaluate implementation of JT in GE initiatives.
