Joint Minds Consult (JMC) is a research, education and training institute that has
been accredited with the Botswana Qualifications Authority since 2012.
We’re located in Gaborone – Botswana, the headquarters of Africa’s most stable
political and economic regional block – the Southern African Development
Community – (SADC).
We have a rich data base of local and international consultants ready to be
deployed in any field and anywhere where a solution in our field is being sought.
JMC has the technical competencies and personnel to execute any consultancy
within its scope of research, training, knowledge development and student
support.
We have the right experience and qualifications based on our involvement in
projects involving universities, Science Granting Councils in Africa, Governments,
ministries, industry, the United Nations agencies, labour unions and international
science granting agencies.

VDr. Joseph Mwelwa (Dip. Ed, Cert. INSET, MEd, PhD), is a Zambian
national. He is BUD Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and has over 27 years
of experience in education at secondary and tertiary education levels: He is
a Language and Literature expert; Bilingual education researcher, Education
and Training Consultant, Founder - Bangweulu University Development;
Founder - Joint Minds Consult www.jointmindsconsult.com Teacher,
Resource teacher, former Provincial Resource Centre Coordinator, Ndola,
Copperbelt South; Senior Lecturer, Molepolole and Tonota Colleges of
Education, Botswana. Former Country Managing Partner – Joint Minds
Consult. – Botswana. He is qualifications development specialist and
university learning programme developer. Dr. Mwelwa Conceptualised the
Bangweulu university Development (BUD) project and has been working on
the Project since 2013. Secured the land for the university from Chief
Kasoma Bangweulu. Dr Mwelwa has been identifying and assembling
technical teams and consulting firms and has been leading university
development efforts for the project both in Zambia and abroad in Botswana,
South Africa, West and East Africa, the UK, Italy, Canada and the United
States. He has conducted research and developed reports for the15 Science
Granting Councils in Africa.He is Lead author of the influential report on open

presentations on open science in Botswana, South Africa, Ghana, Ethiopia,
Tanzania and Uganda.

BUD – Director of Academic Programme Development. A reputable
sociologist. Former Senior Lecturer, Dean – Faculty of Social Sciences, Lead
– Global Research project – IDEA – Sweden, Executive Secretary – Tertiary
Education Council and CEO- Human Resource Development Council. Country

Lily Chipazi is a seasoned Curriculum Developer, Educationist, Counsellor,
Educational Psychologist, Lecturer, Life Skills and Emotional Intelligence
Training Consultant in Botswana and Zimbabwe. She has extensive
experience in Programs, Materials and Curriculum Development. As
Director at Joint Minds Consult, Botswana responsible for training and
development she was the lead consultant in the development of the forth
coming Bangweulu University’s Curriculum Development. She has also
developed numerous BOTA accredited training modules. She has also
done considerable amount of work on gender related initiatives. She was
the lead person on the UNICEF funded Girl-Boy Education Movement and
did a lot of work in streamlining gender issues in the school curriculum and
Ministry of Education and Skills Development Initiatives.
As a distinguished author and material development specialist, she has 8
Life Skills books and 5 Teacher’s Guides to her credit. As a lead author,
Lily Chipazi demonstrated incredible teamwork in ensuring timely delivery
of quality manuscripts. She single handedly developed 132 manuals on
varied mental health topics for First Aid Counselling, a Botswana based
online counselling service provider. She also co-authored and published
learner and facilitator materials for Out of School Education Program
(Botswana) Funded by UNICEF She has extensive experience in planning,
managing, conducting, and evaluating training workshops for teachers,
education officers and learners on Life Skills, Emotional Intelligence,
Guidance and Counseling and HIV and AIDS. Lily. Chipazi has also proved
her mantle in youth development initiatives.
As the Associate Project Director at Education Development Center (EDC),
Lily Chipazi gained immeasurable experience in networking, project
planning and management of staff and meeting project targets. She has
also proved her management skills in successfully running the EDC
Botswana office as its Country Director where she also managed sub-
contractors such as University of Botswana and Steppingstone
International working with EDC and Project AIM Field Staff, Facilitators and
AIM Ambassadors. Lily Chipazi is a goal orientated team player who is
easy going and has an incredible sense of humor.
